The flag of California is the official flag of the state of California. The precursor of this flag was first flown during the 1846 Bear Flag Revolt and was also known as the Bear Flag.
It consists of a brown bear walking on a green grass area, with a red star on the northwest corner and a red stripe on the southern area. Nearly the entire flag is covered in white.
